littleguys for OpenClaw
A small Mac app
for OpenClaw.
littleguys gives every OpenClaw agent a little guy in your Mac menu bar. It reads the ~/.openclaw you already have, so there's nothing to configure: open it and your agents are there. Gateways on your other machines are a click and one approval away. One glance tells you who's working and who needs you. One click answers.
What you see
- One guy in the menu bar for all your agents. It acts out what they're doing: idle, working, has news, needs you, or offline.
- Click it for every agent on every gateway, each with a live status ring, its last message and a quick reply.
- Open a chat when you need more: streaming replies, tool calls, attachments, and commands to allow once, always allow or deny. Routines use OpenClaw's own cron, so they run whether littleguys is open or not.
Set it up
- Install it with Homebrew or the .dmg (below). It's 15 MB.
- Open it. If OpenClaw runs on this Mac, littleguys connects on its own. Connections from the same Mac are approved automatically, so your agents show up right away.
- Add your other machines from Settings → Add gateway. littleguys lists the gateways it finds on your tailnet (Tailscale) and your LAN (Bonjour), or you type an address. Each gateway approves this Mac once, with the
openclaw devices approvecommand littleguys shows you.
No OpenClaw yet? littleguys can install it with the official installer and set it up with the AI provider you pick, without a terminal.
What it doesn't do
- It isn't a gateway. littleguys doesn't run agents or models: it's a front end for the OpenClaw you already run, and quitting it stops nothing.
- It leaves out most of what the official OpenClaw app adds: voice wake, the Canvas panel, letting agents use this Mac's screen and camera, and usage and cost in the menu bar. See the comparison.
- Clicking a notification doesn't open its thread yet.
or with Homebrew:
